and you arrive.... radiant as ever

joy you bring when your glow caresses me

O how much I missed you

I await the stories that people told you

and the prayers that were made to you

then you silently hear me

not just what I say but what I don't

I know you will leave me soon

only to return on a night of full moon.

You stay to watch me fall asleep

a promise of a date you always keep.

आख़िर कोसना तो मजबूरी को ही है।

A late starry night

Sands of time slither away...

I'm still wide eyed as day.

Flashes of times gone by come my way...

smiles and tears that refuse to go away.

Or is it the fear of future or unknown I can't say...

myriads of thoughts that just don't let me stay.

The answers I seek now I can't seem to find...

is it in my times ahead or in my days behind.

Sands of time slither away...

I'm still wide eyed as day.

A mind lost and tired of running around...

my piece of quiet that I have not yet found.

Tonight, will the sleep fairy come my way...

to give me sweet dreams as the stars play.

I have lived my days in the dark

Life's sombre moments left its mark

I have had my days of despair

Then those where I didn't care

O' nights spent quivering in fear

For whom I cared 'n shed a tear

Times when I felt just fine

Like it's my time in sunshine

As I enjoy the view from the river bank

Think of blessings, I have my life to thank

It's not been easy all these while

But that's life, you carry on with a smile

I hear the waves crash on the beautiful shore...

if I still remember the places he's been with me.

of the people I will meet... the places I like to be.

The sights I have to see, the stories I like to hear...

those moments of life that I love and hold dear.

A beautiful moon in all its pristine glory...
a smile that remembers a blissful story...

A warm summer night lit all bright...
the cloak of darkness far from sight...

A mesmerizing full moon lights up the night...
filling you with joy that makes you feel alright...

A resplendence that gives you reprieve...
from many dreary nights of grieve...

I stare at the beautiful moonlit view...
reminiscing moments spent with you...

In my heart I know, so I don't pray...
A fool's wish to make the moon to stay...

A smoke screen

I wait for some unknown or I wander away...
I care for days gone or let my mind sway...
Am I glad for being lost or sad for being astray...
I sit here hidden by a smoke screen.

Terrible it is to fear the unknown...
Even worse to lose the will to know...
I don't quiver as the cold winds blow...
I sit here warmed by a smoke screen.

Kind words meant to soothe...
Even fail to muffle the truth...

The rain gods come roaring to play...
thundering to turn this night to day.

Before she could catch her breath...
he walked far away into the sunset.
His fragrance still lingering in the air...
now a whiff of memories from every breath.

Her voice stymied by lack of her own.
May be He was kind to just let her go...
or heartless as an unforgiving stone.

Innumerable nights all went by silent...
hiding away all those thoughts violent.
Keeping faith she did not relent...
she's​ unfazed by what absence meant.

A heart with​ only good things to pray...
still has a flame she can't give away.

Her gloomy eyes staring at the empty pathway...
Wishing only if he would walk in some day...
He ignored her heart's prayer to stay...
Her happiness trampled on his way.

Every passing breath conjuring her fears...
this life without him bringing her to tears...
Love is all that she had, he could not see...
Life as she knew, it was never meant to be.

Those memories sweet giving her only pain...
And those last words now drive her insane...
If only she could have the strength to let go...
that there's more to life she'll never know.

She learns to live with her heart broken...
Those wonderful dreams from her taken...
Her hopes for love eternally shattered...
Now disheartened by things that once mattered...

This life to her holds no meaning...
With no soul to listen to her feeling...
With all of the memories her heart cries...
With every painful breath a part of her dies...

Her mind playing tricks of every kind...
reliving all those moments left behind...
Moments of joy now turn to sorrow...
As dark clouds in world with no tomorrow...

Life's charm now slowly slipping away...
A mere existence now defines a day...
Her story is how cruel life can be...
Her depths of pain the world can't see...

Life will have its twists and turns...

Wonders of this world still left to see...
And many a beautiful places to be...
With divine morsels to come your way...
And an elixir of life to drink away...

Playfully the little girl poked...
a joy to her the act evoked...
painful!.. It retraced to its shell...
waited... praying all will be well...

Believing the coast is clear...
thinking no one is near...
from its haven it peered...
unware of all that it feared...

aaah! a thrust from the curious stick...
and a slow life met its end quick...
