A wildflower...

It blooms to a most beautiful self...

Deep inside the forest where it dwells...

Not for strangers' time spent to beguile..

Not even for a kind gaze or to bring a smile..

I know it would still bloom all the same...

Not one to look for a praise or any fame.

All that I pray in my darkest hour...

Is to be every bit like a wildflower.

Two birds on a tree

In the woods on my evening stroll...

I saw a silent tree with no leaf to fall...

On different branches perched they were...

gazing intently at the horizon somewhere...

just the two little birds on that tree...

One another they just didn't see...

But only saw the sun that went down...

as the woods got their golden crown...

Listening to the playful river flow...

while the summer day lost it's glow...

One flew away in search of that light...

The other stayed to spend the night.

the good bye

As the sun was setting in the distant horizon...

final few moments spent together in silence...

She turned to him and whispered few words...

He was too distracted with his thoughts...

This feeling was all too familiar yet very strange...

Why did he have to go through this again...

The answers he always knew but did not care...

He lies to himself more than he cares to admit...

She smiled and gave him a briefest of hug...

Maybe it was her goodbye without saying so...

She handed him a scribble as she left...

He held onto it tightly... his heart pounding...

too curious... yet too scared...

That night... he finally opened the note...

It said "Never change, be yourself".

Years have passed...

He still remembers her smile...

He still feels her caress...

He can still smell her fragrance...

And he still asks himself...

Am I myself or should I change?

डर लगने लगा है,

जब हमें तोलते है...

हमारी शख्सियत से नही हमारी बोली से

हमारे इररादों से नही हमारी जात से

हमारे विचारों से नही हमारी औकात से

डर लगने लगा है,

के वादों की कोई अहमियत नही...

खुदगर्ज़ी से कोई परहेज नही...

अब यूँ रंग बदलते है इंसान...

दिन ढलते मुकर जाते है वादे भी।

मुस्कुराहट के पीछे कई राज़ होते है...

लफ़्ज़ों में न कोई जस्बात होते है।

अपनी खुशी दूसरों के आसूं ही सही...

आख़िर कोसना तो मजबूरी को ही है।

डर लगने लगा है... क्या बदलता दौर है या बदलता इंसान है?

A beautiful moon in all its pristine glory...
a smile that remembers a blissful story...

A warm summer night lit all bright...
the cloak of darkness far from sight...

A mesmerizing full moon lights up the night...
filling you with joy that makes you feel alright...

A resplendence that gives you reprieve...
from many dreary nights of grieve...

I stare at the beautiful moonlit view...
reminiscing moments spent with you...

In my heart I know, so I don't pray...
A fool's wish to make the moon to stay...

I wait for some unknown or I wander away...

Before she could catch her breath...
he walked far away into the sunset.
His fragrance still lingering in the air...
now a whiff of memories from every breath.

Unsure of what his parting words meant...
Her voice stymied by lack of her own.
May be He was kind to just let her go...
or heartless as an unforgiving stone.

Innumerable nights all went by silent...
hiding away all those thoughts violent.
Keeping faith she did not relent...
